I attented a wedding

As a guest!

Invited as @wenti’s trusty sidekick.

Being a guest at a wedding without a camera must feel like Amy Winemouse without coke.

So I happened to have my camera with me.

Stayed clear from the “real” photographer at church but if he wasn’t taking this shot …

He was already gone when we arrived at the reception.

That location made my trigger finger itch!

That DJ reminded me from a character in “The Godfather”

I attended a wedding and I had lots of fun!

Kicking backlog butt!

Finally finished up on Katrien & Marijn their wedding album. On to the next!
As soon as I can present them the printed album, I can post more!

Teaser · Lotte & Jeroen

It is very hard for me to pick images for a preview or a teaser. I want to keep the tension high for the couple, I want them to long to see the pictures. (yes I’m a bit of a sadist). You want to keep your best pictures for the final showing but still you need to live up to your standards when presenting the first images… I also try not to show too much very soon after the wedding, it makes the impact on the final showing that much bigger!

But Lotte & Jeroen so kindly asked me if I could show a couple of images because someone dear to them could not attend the wedding. (and see her in her lovely dress!)

Wedding Season kicked into overdrive !

… and I’m a running a bit *kuch* behind on the post processing part of things, partly because I’m still trying to optimize my workflow and I’m trying to find a good balance between photography related work and life away from a camera or computer. Therefore me and Wenti decided we could do with a little roadtrip to France, we packed our car with a mini fridge, strolled the market in the mornings and went for picknick in the afternoon. In the late afternoon we started looking for a place to stay and the outcome of that chambre d’hôte hunt turned out very very nice.

But we are back now, batteries charged for the wedding season, August & September are looking to be a rather busy period and to kick some life back into this blog I have something special for Griet & Fré today.

We were actually setting up for a larger group shot with the bridesmaids and groomsmen when Fré took matter into his own hands.

I kinda feel bad about this shot knowing that he had a back-surgery planned for after the wedding. But I looove the outcome, it has this hollywood, casablanca kind of feeling. (Although the pose might have been a bit daring back in 1942…)

And I just love it when the wedding party is all dressed to match and come up with ideas by themself, it makes my job just that much more fun!

Griet & Fré (and the rest of the über friendly family, friends, bridesmaids, groomsmen & master of ceremony) , thanks for a fun day and there is more where this came from!

It seems that @wenti found her creative outlet and to celebrate the unveiling of her new product line I got to turn the house upside down for some funky looking product shots. But of course it’s the mutskes that steal the show.

May I present to you : “pinnemuts”, “bloem”, “pompon” & “bij”.

Setup
The trick was to find a way to mount the hats, since we don’t have babies in different age groups freely available we turned to balloons instead. At first the balloons were held upright by putting a magnet inside the balloon and one underneath a glossy piece of paper, but 999 balloon bursts and 2 very scared kittens later we went for a different approach: suspend the hats from a crossbar with a nylon thread. (this involves a clever mix of sewing, taping & cursing)

Time to release some more awesomeness of Sofie & Maarten. To give you an idea how committed they were: for the last picture I asked them to stand in a mini greenhouse when the temperature outside was a whooping 32°, just so I could get a picture of the tomatoes! Respect!

Sofie & Maarten, thanks again and I’m really looking forward to be shooting your wedding. May the weather gods be with us!
